AUTO-BOTTOM
Pre-glued flaps that lock together to form a closed bottom as a box is set
up.
BALLOT BOX
Set up box with slot in top to accept entry forms or coupons.
BANDING
Steel or plastic bands that hold material to a shipping pallet to prevent shifting
in transit. (a.k.a STRAPPING)
BLADE-SIGN
Vertical printed sign attached to store shelves that protrudes into isle for
visibility.
BOARD
Corrugated paper material.
BOOKFOLD
Single panel corrugated container that opens only from the top.
BOTTOM CAP
Corrugated tray to protect bottom of material from pallet or floor.
BUTTERFLY TAB
V-shaped tab used to lock two flat pieces together.
CASTER
Wheel or roller on bottom of display to provide mobility.
CEILING SIGN
One or two-sided printed poster hanging from the ceiling.

CERT STAMP
Printed insignia on box bottom indicating origin and material specifications. CHANNEL-STRIP
Printed promotional piece that slides into price channel on front of store
shelves.
CHIP-BOARD
Single-layer, non-rigid pressed paper board used for packaging and posters.
CLAMSHELL
2-sided package hinged at the bottom that closes around product.
CLIP STRIP
Plastic or metal strip holds products with peg hole at top, attaches to shelf
with “S” hook.
CLUB PACK
Stacking corrugated trays that hold products on pallets for display in club
stores.
CO-PACK
Packing products into assembled display.
CORRUGATED
Packaging material made of a top and bottom flat liner attached to a wavy center
medium.
COUNTER CARD
Ridged printed card with easel back support.
COUNTER DISPLAY
Display fixture on a store counter that dispenses products.

Printed promotional piece with narrow neck extended from store shelf. (a.k.a
WOBBLER)
DIE CUT
Cutting packaging or display material into its required shape.
DIE LINE
Graphic image of a die cut shape.
DIGITAL
Information on a computer.
DOUBLE-WALL
Corrugated material made with a top liner, center liner and bottom liner attaching
two wavy mediums.
ECT – Edge Crush Test
The pounds at which corrugated materials fails.
END-CAP
A display that fills the space at the end of a store fixture between two isles.
FILLER
Material used to fill a space or void.
FLEXO
Process using a raised print surface to print text and graphics.
FLOOR GRAPHICS
Printed pressure-sensitive material applied to floor.
FLOORSTAND
Display with a base to elevate product to acceptable merchandising height.
FLUTE
The ribs created by the wavy medium in corrugated board.

LINER
The smooth surface on top and bottom of the wavy medium of corrugated material.

A device used to hold literature, often attached to a display.

Offset printing process.
LUG-ON
Printed, die cut shape attached to a display.
MASTER
Shipping container filled with product.
MATCH PRINT
Offset printed color-accurate proof.
MATRIX
Type of die cutting that improves scored edges to prevent cracking.
MEDIUM
Wavy center layer of corrugated material.
MOCKUP
Display sample with full graphics.
MONITOR TOPPER
Printed sign attached to top of cash register.
MYLAR
Transparent plastic sheet with die line printed on it.
NEAR-PACK
Merchandising devices attached to store shelves and displays near the products
shelf placement.
OFFSET
Printing process used for literature and labels.
ON-PACK
Promotional device attached to product package.

PLATE
Flexible material with printing image, attached to press for printing.
POLE
Fiber, plastic or metal poles used as support legs for a display or extending
up from a display to hold a sign.
POLE-TOPPER
Printed sign attached to the top of a pole.

Display attached to a standard wire fixture measuring 14” wide, 48” tall,
5” deep. (a.k.a. POWERWING and SIDEKICK)

SIDEKICK
Display attached to a standard wire fixture measuring 14” wide, 48” tall,
5” deep. (a.k.a. POWERWING and POWERPANEL)
SILKSCREEN
Printing process in which paint or ink is forced through a silk screen with
a squeegee.
SLIP SHEET
Corrugated pad placed between layers of product. (a.k.a LAYER PAD)
SLIT-SCORE
Cutting through the liner on one side of a corrugated sheet to make it easer
to fold.
SPECIFICATIONS
Material makeup and dimensions of a display component.
STATIC-CLING
Printed plastic or vinyl sign which adheres to glass or other surface without
using an adhesive.
STRAPPING
Steel or plastic bands that hold material to a shipping pallet to prevent shifting
in transit. (a.k.a BANDING)
STRETCH WRAP
Plastic material used to wrap items for storage or shipment, requires no heat.
SUIS
